#HurryHome
September 15, 2021 Update:
The September 15 ‘State of public emergency’ declaration issued by the Alberta government has imposed a big choice among many individuals, communities, and business. In a nutshell, for Fithouse (and all gyms) we’ve been given two options:
Option 1: No group fitness is permitted; which would mean Fithouse would have to temporarily close indefinitely.
Option 2: Implement the ‘Restriction exemption program”. This program allows Fithouse to continue operating, but would require members and patrons to provide either:
Proof of vaccination for COIVD-19; or
Proof of a negative result for a COVID-19 test. The test much be a privately-paid COVID-19 PCR or rapid test completed within 72 hours.
Given that one of our core values is ‘Inclusivity’, these regulations put us in a very challenging and unpleasant position.
The way we see it:
Option 1: We close the doors, again. After a challenging 18+ months and an uncertain future, we cannot risk closing the gym again for an indefinite period. Moreover, this would leave 100% of our clientele without the place they have grown in, become healthier in, and met lifelong friends in.
Option 2: Remain open and preserve Fithouse but with the unfortunate reality that we may be excluding a portion of people who are incredibly valued members of our community. This hurts, a lot!
We have made the decision to stay open in hopes of preserving the business - with the hope that these measures are temporary and we can resume with our full FitFam sooner than later.
If you are making the very fair choice to not get vaccinated at this time, know that we completely respect your decision and hope that you can do the same for us and your community. At your direction, we will happily place your membership on hold at no charge.
If you are vaccinated (1 dose required by Sept. 20, 2 doses required by Oct. 25), we will require one time proof which we will record in MindBody. To make lives simpler, please email proof of vaccination to info@fithouse.ca or provide proof upon your first attendance on or after Sep. 20. Click the button below for instructions on how to obtain your appropriate records.
We are always available to discuss any of your concerns. If you would like further details with regards to your personal circumstances or any other concerns, email us to coordinate a chat.
Please reach out if we can provide any support.
Masking and physical distancing are mandatory in all indoor common spaces.
